A Few Thoughts on Exhibitions Seen and Unseen

Dear Friends, I like to start advising you all to go to see the exhibition at the National Gallery COROT TO MONET (8 July - 20 SeptEmber)."A fresh look at lanscape from the collection" I have already been to see it twice, once with Anthony and once with Annie Shead. The first worked only because Anthony was promised an interesting meal afterwards....!... while Annie and I went to really spend time in it, looking, pondering, questioning and just enjoying it. It is to me a real jewel whose main… Continue

Rosamaria, thank you for writing back. It isn't done with photographs. They are original paintings done on canvas. I use a toothbrush to get the stipple affect. I studied Seurat's Optical Mix Theory while in college to learn about his application of color; however, I would have lost my mind doing one single dot or point at a time. :-)

Just curious if you do critique's by request or exactly, how that might work.

Hello Rosamaria,I wonder if you are familiar with my friend Hilary McCartney, she is also an art historian but her field of study is more Spanish art but I believe she has translated some Italian books into English.
Cheers,Craig.

I quickly visited your web site. I would like to have you as my friend. I would one day like to open my little Red Door Arte Gallery here in Walla Walla WA. The rent was doubled on me and I had to abandon for a time.

Thank you so much Rosemaria for your kind words, so pleased you found the paintings so moving.
Well I would like to say that the black bear picture was indeed the result of a sudden encounter, however that would be a lie. Obviously if were to get that close to a wild bear then it's debatable one would live to tell the tale. That's not to say I wouldn't relish the opportunity having already enjoyed the experience and company of various wild creatures including tigers, rhino and wolves just to name three.
As an artist and writer I never give up the opportunity to come face to face with a subject that might inspire me. After all fear itself is only relative to the degree of danger involved in the encounter.
Yes we are indeed far away friends but the power of communication certainly shortens the distance. Pat

Thanks for viewing my work Rosamaria and the kind comments. Not sure what happened with the blank page while you were looking. It must have been cyber gremlins. I added 3 more works and it seems to be working fine today.
