About Me:
Je suis Canadienne Française and now also American!
I am a visual artist. I paint because I must. My earthly experience consists of the ongoing balance between the outer world and the inner world ~ being present while connected to self. I often refer to this as "the ongoing in & out'.
It is during my connection to self, that my painting process truly breathes.
About My Art:

Expressionist.

Dances somewhere between abstraction ~ figurative art.

Acrylic on canvas & on paper. Chinese ink (encre de chine) on paper. Encaustic on canvas. True buon fresco. Sculpture. Computer art (new exploratory chapter!).

Formally educated in painting, art history, true buon fresco and feng shui.

Creativity

This text, I share with all b-Uncut members, to thank Robert B. Newton who reminded me of the beauty of 'the Process' this morning; Cameron Craig who started a discussion regarding Creativity at the Artist Café many months ago, which led me to write these vibrating emotions on the subject; Marie Kazalia who encouraged me to save this text; Jerry Hanks who first noticed this painting on b-Uncut; and all of us who have experienced a glimpse of 'Creativity' in our life.… Continue

Fire

People often look at my paintings and see fire. They then express their uneasy feeling stemming from this perception. My feeling is that fire is all mighty, powerful and beautiful.

In feng shui, fire is one of the five elements that makes up our physical earthly experience. Compared… Continue

Wood

When I was a little girl, all I painted were trees. Specifically, I favored the branches ~ the multiple, winding, crossing, thick, thin, long, short branches of the trees. I followed their movement ~ thousands of branches steming from the same solitary source of a single trunk.

Water

What role does water play in our lives ~ in our ongoing quest for balance and well-being? Why do some people love the ocean, while others prefer to go hiking up a mountain? Is this attraction to and need for water specific to certain people or rather to certain times in our lives? Pe… Continue

Thank you MCJ! La chose la plus ironique c'est que nous cherchons toujours la simplicite. Mais de trouver le simple c'est toujours le plux complex! Je partage ce qui est dedans - et j'espere qui'il va toujours resortir!

Hi MCJ! Thank you for your comments. I have always like Modigliani! I really like your work as well. Great use of colors. A lot of passion!

Well I'll share something with you that a friend in UK shared with me, a photographer, he said "paint only what you want to see, because if you want to see it, other people will want to see it".

I now live by those words and it's working for me. I love the stillness and rigour in your portraits but your abstract pieces are so incredible they all kind of work together - so maybe it doesn't matter what you make - it will still be incredible? I'm looking forward to visit the West London Studios for B Uncut and meet more and more artists - I stay inside too much.

Hi MCJ, I saw your post underneath Vinyasa (hope I got tha right). It was a huge pleasure to wake up today and see it on the slide show on the main home page. While it doesn't pack the power punch that your spiritual abstract pieces do, which seems like your main focus, a good portrait with some very soothing colours like grey and yellow can really broaden the portfolio you are presenting. I find in Vinyasa a stillness that I wish I could get in my pieces.

I too am struggling greatly right now with the decision to put out a larger proportion of abstract landscapes or a set of wild and grotesque portraits. Landscapes of shapes and flows allow more experimentation but portraits seem to sell. In the end all we can do is to leave a strong mark that we were here and used the little attention on earth to pour into the act of creation. Then the framework of the world, whatever it is , is left to judge and enterpret our work. I am connected with a new gallery now called City Art in Toronto which is looking for new work and will post their contact info very soon. Best, L ::)
