About Me:

I am currently a student at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. I am constantly struggling with my future. I am a business and an art major. Im not sure if I am good enough to work as an artist and pay off my student loans, but I am going to use my last year of school to find out.

About My Art:

My art is a new found passion and possible career opportunity. Before it was just a pass time and then everything just clicked and I realized that this is what I want to do. My art is slowly but surely becoming my everything.

Favorite Music:

Rock, alternative, indie. I like everything Pandora.com is a godsend.

Favorite Artists:

William Blake, Cezanne, Picasso, Warhol, Turner, Brian Ewing

staying busy

Hi all I thought I would stop by and say hi. I am in the middle of finishing about 4 different pieces, 2 paintings and 2 monoprints. After that I pretty much just need to choose 20 images to send to the grad schools and then its time to wait. Waiting sucks. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

P.S. Advice on image selection would be very much appreciated

Happy Thanksgiving everyone !!!

November has been another busy month for me as far as my art goes. I work and do art and work is pretty boring so at least I can stay excited about one aspect of my life. I have been applying to grad schools, well filling out applications anyway. The applications take forever and with MFA (master of fine arts) programs there is more materials to turn in then just an application. October news

So the month is now October, I think I skipped a newsletter last month due to extreme busyness. So I started a new job and its going well and it allows me time to work on art, but it took a few weeks to get into a good routine. Decision made

Alright so my first rollercoaster in the real world is almost over and taking me back into the student world. I went to Denver for a family vacation as well as an interview for an oil company. A job where I would be bored and stressed...a job I have been dreading. I also had a job interview in North Dakota where I would be a banker. I would be less likely to kill myselff but I don't want to take this job either. So, I took the worst paying job in Sioux Falls SD. This job will be 7-2 everyday. 6… Continue

ugh

I know most of my blogs have been negative, but I guess thats how you have to start off. Its going to be a struggle, and I am going to have to sacrifice alot. I am currently at a cross roads and the next 2 weeks will be a defining moment in my life. I have a job opportunity in Denver that I have an interview for. Grad schools--my advice is save your money and put it into your art. Or go to the best one you can in LA, NYC, London--depending on you art style...
